they're my favorite kind of cloud..
AWESOME!
Most of these were done in the 1950's...called Atmospheric Tests!!!
Now they test them underground or lately, by Computer Modeling!!!
They learned how to make them Large, Small, Low -yield or High -yield (referring to the explosive power of the blast)...Dirty or Clean (referring to the radioactive contamination and fallout generated)
eg, A Neutron Bomb generates lots of Radiation and Heat but not much Blast effect leaving Real Estate slightly contaminated for a time but destroying all organic matter!!!
(Atom or Fission bomb) 1 kiloton = 1,000 tons of TNT........
(Thermonuclear or Hydrogen fusion bomb) 1 Megaton =1,000,000 tons of TNT
FISSION is splitting Atoms while FUSION is compression of atoms together to form a different atom!!!
It takes an Atom bomb trigger to generate enough HEAT to cause a Fusion reaction and detonate a FUSION bomb, essentially turning Hydrogen into Helium and releasing a HUGE volume of energy!!
It involves Physics and Nuclear Chemistry...very complicated...not easy to understand or explain without a knowledge of these Sciences which I don't have...(I'm a self taught observer)!!!
Our job is to make people aware of the menace...most people have no idea what's at stake here!!!
They don't realize the damage and agony these things can bring...
Until recent years only Governments had these devices, and could be controlled by threat of a retaliatory strike.....(MAD=Mutually Assured Destruction) but now we're afraid of private militaristic groups getting them...how do you attack a bunch of people who do not represent any government???
